  • The National Women’s Hockey League 2024 commenced in Jharkhand with the participation of eight teams, marking a significant milestone for women's hockey in India and showcasing the growing interest and support for the sport at the national level.
  • The opening match at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Astro Turf Stadium in Ranchi featured a clash between the home team, Jharkhand, and Mizoram, highlighting the competitive spirit and enthusiasm among players from different regions of the country to excel in the sport. 
  • Additionally, the presence of Hockey India officials, including Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh and Treasurer Sekar J Manoharan, alongside Sports Authority of India’s Director General Sandeep Pradhan, underscored the collaborative efforts and institutional support aimed at promoting hockey development in India.
