· Morocco's King Mohammed VI has named Aziz Akhanouch of the Liberal National Rally of the Independent Party, or RNI, as the country's new prime minister and tasked him with forming the government.
· He will replace outgoing Prime Minister Saad Edin El Othmani from the Islamist Justice and Development Party (PJD).
· The new prime minister said that after his meeting with the king he would begin talks with potential coalition partners to form the government.
