  • Meghalaya's indigenous textile, ‘Ryndia,' has secured the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) tag for its handwoven, hand-spun, naturally dyed, organically produced, and ethically sourced fabric, along with Meghalaya handloom products.
  • Ryndia, also known as Eri Silk, is a unique, woman-centric weaving tradition of Meghalaya that is produced by Khasi, Bhoi, and Jaintia artisans, with a sustainable production method that aligns with the principles of Ahimsa (non-violence) as the silkworms are not killed during the silk extraction process.
