Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh appointed as Director General of NCC

·        Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh took over as the 34th Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

·        He was given the charge of the “Parachute Regiment” in 1987.

·        An alumnus of National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla, Indian Military Academy, Dehradun as well as NCC, he had attended Defense Services Staff College in Wellington and National Defense College courses in New Delhi.

·        Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh has been a Company Commander in the anti-terrorism environment in Nagaland and Siachen Glacier.
