लद्दाख के पूर्वी हिस्से में स्थित शायोक गांव, जो गलवान घाटी की ओर जाने वाले मार्ग पर है, 10 हेक्टेयर बंजर सामुदायिक भूमि को बोटैनिकल गार्डन में बदलने की योजना पर कार्य कर रहा है। यह गार्डन लद्दाख की पारंपरिक फल, औषधीय पौधों और जैव विविधता के संरक्षण हेतु बनाया जाएगा। लद्दाख हिल काउंसिल की कमांड एरिया डेवलपमेंट विभाग ने इस परियोजना के लिए भूमि की जुताई और जलाशय निर्माण जैसे कार्यों हेतु ₹1 करोड़ की सहायता दी है। क्षेत्रीय पार्षद ताशी नामग्याल याक्जे ने सोलर पंपिंग सिस्टम की स्थापना का खर्च वहन किया है।
