  • Shri Ashish Naithani, Judicial Officer, has been appointed as a permanent judge of the Uttarakhand High Court, thereby filling up one of the 5 vacancies running in the sanctioned strength of 11 judges.
  • The appointment was approved by the President of India on 6th January 2025, bringing relief to the High Court, which was functioning with only 6 judges.
  • The decision was taken at a meeting of the collegium headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna on December 22.
