Joginder Sharma announces retirement from all forms of cricket

  • Indian pacer Joginder Sharma has announced retirement from all formats of cricket on February 3, 2023. 
  • The cricketer is known for his exceptional bowling in the T20 World Cup 2007 Final, where India defeated Pakistan to grab the prestigious trophy.
  • Joginder Sharma played his first international match in an ODI against Bangladesh in Chattogram in 2004. 
  • He played eight matches for India, including four ODIs and four T20Is.
  • Sharma featured for Haryana in domestic cricket, playing 49 first-class matches, 39 List-A matches and 43 T20s. 
  • He last played the 2017 Vijay Hazare Trophy, and is now serving as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Hisar district of Haryana.
