IndiGo Appoints Pieter Elbers as CEO, Ronojoy Dutta to Retire

  • InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of low-cost carrier IndiGo has appointed Pieter Elbers as its new Chief Executivie Officer (CEO).
  • He succeeds Ronojoy Dutta, 71, who has decided to retire on September 30, 2022.
  • Since 2014, Mr Elbers, 52, has served as the President and CEO of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Air France
  • The Board of Directors of IndiGo’s parent company, InterGlobe Aviation Limited, approved his appointment subject to regulatory clearances.
  • Mr Dutta was appointed as IndiGo’s CEO in January 2019, before which he served as an advisor for the restructuring of Air Canada, US Airways and Hawaiian Air and was also the President of United Airlines between 1999 and 2002.
