  • Indian women's hockey star Vandana Katariya has announced her retirement from international hockey at the pinnacle of her 15-year illustrious career. 
  • She played 320 international matches and scored 158 goals, making her the player with the most matches played in the history of Indian women's hockey. 
  • Vandana Katariya was part of the Indian team that finished fourth at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. 
  • She achieved the honor of becoming the first and only Indian woman player to score a hat-trick in the Olympics.
