Indian Army contingent to participate in joint military Ex Khaan Quest 2024 in Mongolia

  • Indian Army is participating in the 21st multinational military exercise Khan Quest, held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from July 27 to August 9, 2024.
  • Khan Quest began in 2003 as a bilateral exercise between the U.S. and Mongolian armed forces, becoming a multinational exercise from 2008 onwards.
  • The Indian contingent includes 40 personnel, primarily from the Madras Battalion, including three women soldiers (one officer and two soldiers).
  • India and Mongolia share strong defense relations, exemplified by regular joint military exercises like Nomadic Elephant, with the 16th edition held in July 2024 in Meghalaya, India.
