·       Two years after the 7th edition of the Foreign Training Node was held in Pune, the 8th edition of the India-Sri Lanka bilateral joint exercise, “Mitra Shakti”, will be held at the Combat Training School, Ampara, Sri Lanka from October 4 to 15.

·       The aim of the exercise is to promote closer ties between the armies of the two countries, enhance interoperability and share best practices in counter-terrorism operations.

·       Mitra Shakti, which translates to 'the power of friendship', is carried out under the mandate of the United Nations (UN) as both armies contribute to the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces, which are stationed in disturbed areas around the world.
