The Ministry of Mines has unveiled a ₹1,500 crore Critical Mineral Recycling Incentive Scheme to boost recovery of vital minerals from e-waste, spent batteries and scrap. Aimed at strengthening self-reliance and promoting sustainability, the scheme supports new and expanding recycling facilities, especially start-ups. Applications are open for six months until April 1 next year. With strong oversight and focus on innovation, the initiative is set to make India a leader in circular economy practices and reduce import dependence on critical minerals.
