India–Israel sign declaration to expand cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture:

  • A senior Indian delegation led by Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Panchayati Raj, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, concluded a productive visit to Israel from January 13 to 15, 2026, during which India and Israel signed a Joint Ministerial Declaration of Intent to enhance collaboration in fisheries and aquaculture.
  • The declaration was signed on the sidelines of the Second Global Summit on “Blue Food Security: Sea the Future 2026”, held in Eilat, Israel. It outlines a broad framework for cooperation in areas such as advanced aquaculture technologies, including Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), biofloc technology, cage culture, aquaponics, aquarium systems and oceanariums. The agreement also covers joint research on high-yield species breeding, pathogen-free seed development, and broodstock improvement strategies.
