GAIL to set up country's largest green hydrogen plant

  • GAIL (India) Limited, a public sector business, would build the country's largest green hydrogen generation plant. The corporation wants to replace its natural gas business with carbon-free fuel, thus a hydrogen factory has been planned.
  • Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL, told CeraWeek's India Energy Forum that the business has put out a global tender for electrolysers. He estimated that the factory would take 12-14 months to get up.
  • The corporation has chosen two or three locations for the factory, one of which is in Vijaypur, Madhya Pradesh.
