Former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown appointed WHO ambassador for global health funding

·        The World Health Organization announced the appointment of the Honorable Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, as WHO Ambassador for Global Health Financing.

·        Mr Brown is widely credited with preventing the Second Great Depression through his leadership of the 2009 London G20 summit.

·        WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus hailed Mr Brown as a champion for inspiring the world's major economies to protect health and prevent future disease outbreaks.
