Cyclone 'Gulab' hits Andhra Pradesh and Odisha

·         The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has now issued a red alert for Odisha and Andhra Pradesh after 'Cyclone Gulab' made landfall over the northwest and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal.

·         Pakistan has named "Cyclone Gulab".

·         The word ‘Gulab’ refers to a rose in English. The wind speed during landfall is said to be in the range of 90 kmph to 100 kmph.
