  • Since 2015, every year 26 November is celebrated as Constitution Day in India.
  • Earlier, 26 November was celebrated as Law Day/Vidhi Diwas.
  • The Constitution of India was adopted on November 26, 1949.
  • The Constitution was promulgated on 26 January 1950.
  • Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar played an important role in the making of the Constitution and is also called the father of the Indian Constitution.
  • Dr. Ambedkar was also the first Union Minister of Law and Justice of India.
  • On the occasion of Constitution Day, Dr. B. in the Supreme Court premises. R. Ambedkar's statue was unveiled.
  • This statue was unveiled by the President.
