Charanjit Singh Channi sworn in as new Chief Minister of Punjab

·         The new Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi took oath today at the Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh.

·         He became the first Dalit Chief Minister of the state.

·         Mr Channi replaces Captain Amarinder Singh, who resigned as chief minister on Saturday after he was allegedly humiliated by the party.

·         Along with him, two senior MLAs Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni also took oath as cabinet ministers. He will be the Deputy Chief Minister in the government.
