Carlos Alcaraj defeated Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon 2023 final

Carlos Alcaraz defeated seven-time champion Novak Djokovic to claim his first Wimbledon men’s final.
Alcaraz is the first player outside of the sport’s ‘big four’ of Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray to win the Wimbledon men’s singles title since 2002.
World No. 1 Alcaraz recovered from dropping the first set and saving a set point in the second to win 1-6, 7-6 (8/6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 after four hours and 42 minutes on Centre Court.
With this victory, Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest player in the Open Era to win the men's singles titles at Wimbledon and the US Open. The Spaniard won the title at Flushing Meadows last year.
Interestingly, he is also the third-youngest player in the Open Era to win the grass-court Major, and the second player to defeat Novak Djokovic in a five-set Grand Slam final.
