Australia fast bowler announces retirement from international cricket ahead of Ashes series

  • James Pattinson, an Australian fast bowler, has declared his retirement from international cricket ahead of the Ashes series.
  • The 31-year-old Victorian, who made his Test debut as a tearaway right armer, has decided to retire from international cricket in order to devote more time to his family, playing for his state, and mentoring the next generation of fast bowlers.
  • Between 2011 and 2015, Pattinson played in 15 one-day internationals and four T20 internationals, and he will continue to play domestic cricket.
