  • The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has commenced excavations at Nachne village in the Panna district of Madhya Pradesh with the aim of discovering India's oldest temple.
  • The excavation sites are located near the Nachna Hindu temples, which include a Gupta-era Parvati temple and a Chaumukh Nath temple from the Kalachuri dynasty. These temples are among the earliest surviving stone temples in central India, potentially dating back to the Gupta Empire era.
  • Archaeologists believe that a significant historical site lies buried beneath Nachne village. The ongoing excavation is expected to unveil more about the ancient history and architectural heritage of the region.
