  • भारत ने 2023 में गणतंत्र दिवस के लिए मिस्र के राष्ट्रपति अब्देल फत्ताह अल-सिसी को मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में आमंत्रित किया है।
  • मिस्र 2023 में भारत की अध्यक्षता में जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन में आमंत्रित नौ अतिथि देशों में शामिल है।
  • अब्देल फत्ताह सिसी एक पूर्व सेना अधिकारी हैं जो 2014 में मिस्र के राष्ट्रपति के रूप में चुने गए थे और 2018 में फिर से चुने गए थे।
  • 26 जनवरी को गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह के लिए मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में निमंत्रण देश के करीबी सहयोगियों और साझेदारों के लिए आरक्षित एक सांकेतिक सम्मान है।
  • 2021 और 2022 में समारोह में मुख्यतः कोविड -19 महामारी के कारण हुए व्यवधानों के कारण कोई मुख्य अतिथि नहीं था।
  • ब्राजील के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति जायर बोल्सोनारो 2020 समारोह में भाग लेने वाले अंतिम मुख्य अतिथि थे।
