68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023: Badhaai Do wins Best Film Critics' choice award

  • The 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism were held on April 27, 2023, at the Jio World Conventional Centre in Mumbai. 
  • Salman Khan hosted the ceremony for the very first time, alongside co-hosts Ayushmann Khurrana and Maniesh Paul.
  • This year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ emerged as the biggest winner with 10 awards in major categories, including best film, best director and best actress at the 68th Filmfare Awards. 
  • Badhai Do also won big with six awards , including actor Rajkummar Rao bagging the best actor award for his performance in the movie.
  • Filmfare awards were first presented in 1954 and ever since then, they have become an important part of the Indian film industry.
  • The first Filmfare Award for Best Film went to “Do Bigha Zamin”, directed by Bimal Roy.
  • Dilip Kumar won the Best Actor award for his performance in the film “Daag”, and Meena Kumari won Best Actress for her role in the film “Baiju Bawra”. Naushad Ali won Best Music Director for “Baiju Bawra”.
