According to the latest announcement by Border Roads Organisation office in-charge Captain IK Singh, the Joji La tunnel being built in Ladakh is expected to be completed by December 2030.
The Zoji La Tunnel is truly an engineering marvel, boasting impressive features that will undoubtedly benefit the region.
With a revised length of 13.15 km and a total length of 14.15 km, the tunnel will be a horseshoe-shaped, single tube structure with a two-lane road, providing a crucial link between Srinagar and Leh.
Currently, crossing the treacherous Zoji La Pass takes a daunting 3-4 hours. However, once the tunnel is operational, this travel time is expected to be reduced significantly to just 15 minutes.
