  • According to the latest announcement by Border Roads Organisation office in-charge Captain IK Singh, the Joji La tunnel being built in Ladakh is expected to be completed by December 2030.

  • With a revised length of 13.15 km and a total length of 14.15 km, the tunnel will be a horseshoe-shaped, single tube structure with a two-lane road, providing a crucial link between Srinagar and Leh.
  • Currently, crossing the treacherous Zoji La Pass takes a daunting 3-4 hours. However, once the tunnel is operational, this travel time is expected to be reduced significantly to just 15 minutes.
