  • The Yogi government is set to kickstart its Annual Mass Drug Administration campaign aimed at eradicating filariasis, scheduled to run from February 5 to 15.
  • During this campaign, door-to-door screening will be done by occupational health workers, filariasis prevention medicine will be provided to the population, including children under two years of age, pregnant women, and those with serious illnesses.
  • Significantly, the central government has set a target of 2027 to completely eradicate filariasis from the country.
