Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement from wrestling on 8 August 2024 after being disqualified in the final of the 50 kg category at the Paris Olympics 2024 for being 100 grams over the weight limit.
The Haryana government will treat Vinesh Phogat on par with an Olympic silver medallist, offering her the same prize money and facilities, as announced by Chief Minister Nayab Saini.
