  • A tsunami is a series of huge waves generated by movements under the oceans that are usually associated with earthquakes that occur under or near the seabed.

  • The World Tsunami Awareness Day 2023 theme is 'Raising awareness of the underlying disaster risk drivers – poverty, inequality and other drivers of vulnerability'.
