World Space Week is organized annually from 4 to 10 October to raise awareness about space.
The celebration of this week was announced by the United Nations General Assembly in December, 1999.
World Space Week was celebrated for the first time in the year 2000.
The theme of World Space Week 2023 is 'Space and Entrepreneurship'.
World Space Week 4 commemorates the launch of Sputnik, the world's first artificial satellite.
Sputnik was launched on October 4, 1957.
