  • World Physical Therapy Day was established in 1996 by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy.
  • 8 September was specifically chosen to celebrate this day because of its historical significance. On this day in 1951, the World Confederation for Physical Therapy was born.
  • The name of the organization changed and is now called World Physiotherapy.
