World Osteoporosis Day is celebrated every year on 20 October to raise awareness about bone health.
Due to weak bones, there is pain in joints and muscles, difficulty in getting up and sitting and many other problems.
This day is celebrated to increase awareness among people about preventing and treating bone fractures.
The theme of World Osteoporosis Day 2023 is - 'Step up for bone health - Build better bones'.
This day was started in the year 1996 by the National Osteoporosis Society of the United Kingdom.
After this, the International Osteoporosis Foundation was established in the year 1998.
