  • Every year on October 20th, World Osteoporosis Day is observed around the world to raise awareness about the condition that has a severe impact on a person's bone health.
  • This medical ailment causes a person's bones to weaken. The bones of a person become so frail that they can readily break. Osteoporosis can cause repeated fractures, which can be devastating.
  • "Serve Up Bone Strength" is the theme of the Global WOD Campaign in 2021.
  • On October 20, 1996, the National Osteoporosis Society of the United Kingdom commemorated World Osteoporosis Day for the first time.
