· World Environmental Health Day is observed on 26 September.
· This year's theme is 'Prioritizing Environmental Health for Healthy Communities in Global Reform'.
· The day assumes significance in the current situation as most parts of the world continue to recover from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic situation.
· The day was initiated by the International Federation of Environmental Health Councils during a meeting in Indonesia on the same day in 2011.
