The Neutral Expert (NE) appointed under the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) affirmed his competence to resolve India-Pakistan disputes over hydroelectric projects on Indus Treaty rivers.
While India welcomed the NE's decision, it did not address India's 2023 demand to renegotiate the IWT, leaving ongoing differences over the dispute resolution mechanism.
