World Audiovisual Heritage Day is celebrated every year on 27 October across the world.
The day is celebrated to raise awareness about the importance and preservation risks of recorded sound and audiovisual documents.
The purpose of celebrating this day is to make every person aware of audio-visual sounds.
The focus is to acknowledge the importance of audiovisual documents as an integral part of the national identity.
The proposal to celebrate this day was made by UNESCO in the year 2004.
This day was celebrated for the first time in the year 2005.
