  • The new B.1.1.529 coronavirus variant was designated as a 'variant of concern' by the World Health Organization (WHO) and given the name ‘Omicron’.
  • It was first reported to the WHO on November 24th, from South Africa, and has since been confirmed in Botswana, Belgium, Hong Kong, and Israel.
  • American and European countries are facing the fourth to the fifth wave of Corona.
