Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, AVSM, VSM assumes charge as Vice Chief of Naval Staff on 01 May 2024.
On assuming charge, the Flag Officer paid homage to Bravehearts that made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation by placing a floral wreath at the National War Memorial.
He has a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the Indian Navy, having been commissioned in 1987.
Vice Admiral Swaminathan specializes in Communication and Electronic Warfare, with extensive training from prestigious institutions including the National Defence Academy and the United States Naval War College.
Throughout his career, he has held various operational, staff, and training appointments, commanding key vessels such as INS Vidyut, INS Vinash, INS Kulish, INS Mysore, and aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya.
