  • The names of Guru Gobind Singh's two sons were Sahibzade Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.
  • Anandpur Sahib was besieged by Mughal troops on the orders of Emperor Aurangzeb in the year 1704 AD.
  • In this incident, two sons of Guru Gobind Singh were captured.
  • They were told not to kill them if they became Muslims.
  • Both of them rejected this offer, due to which they were given death sentence and were thrown into a brick wall alive.
  • The announcement to celebrate this day was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • This day was celebrated for the first time in the year 2022.
  • The second edition of Bir Bal Diwas is being celebrated in the year 2023.
