  • Uttarakhand has agreed to translocate four tigers to Rajasthan in response to a request from the authorities of the western state.
  • The selected tigers for relocation to Rajasthan will be sourced from the buffer zone rather than the protected forest area, adhering to the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).
  • As per the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), tigers being sent to Rajasthan are to be captured from the buffer zone and not from the protected forest area.
  • A similar request for the relocation of three tigers to Odisha has also been received and is currently under consideration by the authorities.
