  • According to recently released data, Uttar Pradesh is at the top position in terms of providing water connections under Jal Jeevan Mission.
  • So far, more than 1.80 crore families have got tap water.
  • This is about 69% of the total target of providing tap connections.
  • On 1 April 2020, Uttar Pradesh was ranked 13th.
  • Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh has secured second position in the High Achievers category at the Jal Jeevan Survekshan Awards 2023.
  • In the achievers category, Kanpur of Uttar Pradesh is at first place, Bhadohi is at second place and Moradabad is at third place.
  • In the aspirants category, Mathura is at second place and Unnao is at third place in the country.
  • In the performers category, Azamgarh is at first place in the country and Ayodhya is at third place in the achievers category.
  • Under Jal Jeevan Ko, the state government has so far spent more than Rs 53 thousand crores.
  • Jal Jeevan Mission was launched in August, 2019.
  • This mission aims to provide 'functional household tap connection' to every rural household in the country by the year 2024.
