The recently concluded Uttar Pradesh Cabinet meeting has given approval for the establishment of state universities in 3 districts of the state.
These state universities will be established in Gonda, Mirzapur and Moradabad districts.
An amendment to the UP State Universities Act, 1973 has been approved for the establishment of state universities in these districts.
Now this amendment will be placed in the state assembly.
'Maa Pateshwari Devi State University' will be established in Gonda.
'Maa Vindhyavasini State University' will be established in Mirzapur.
The university to be established in Moradabad will be named 'Uttar Pradesh State University'.
At present, there are 34 state universities in Uttar Pradesh.
Rs 50 crore has been allocated to each state university in the current financial year.
