  • The U.S. The Treasury (the Finance Ministry of the United States of America) has printed the first US banknotes (currency notes) with the signatures of two women. 
  • The new $1 and $5 bills are signed by the Secretary of the Treasury (American Finance Minister) Janet Yellen and Lynn Malerba. 
  • The currency notes of the United States are commonly referred to as Greenbacks.
  • Lynn Malerba is a Native American and the chief of the Mohegan Tribe. She is the Treasurer of the United States in the United States government's Department of Treasury.
  • Janet Yellen is a former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in the United States. She was the Federal Reserve's first female chairman.
