Renowned US author Paul Auster, famous for his New York Trilogy mystery novels, passed away at the age of 77.
Auster authored over 30 books during his career, achieving cult status particularly in the 1980s and 90s. His works, often existentialist in nature and focusing on outsiders, garnered significant acclaim, especially in Europe.
Auster died at his Brooklyn home on Tuesday due to complications from lung cancer. His cancer diagnosis was announced by his wife, author Siri Hustvedt, in March 2023.
