Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched One District One Sport (ODOS) on the lines of the highly successful One District One Product (ODOP) scheme of the government.
The scheme will identify one sport in each of the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
It will then take necessary steps to find district-specific sports talent and further develop their skills so they can compete in district, state, national, and international level tournaments and competitions.
The project aims to promote one particular game in every district where sportspersons will be trained and provided related facilities.
Earlier, under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme Wrestling became the sport of the Gorakhpur district under the One District One Sports scheme.
The Yogi Government had launched the ODOP scheme in January 2018 on the occasion of the foundation day of UP.
