  • The scheme will identify one sport in each of the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
  • It will then take necessary steps to find district-specific sports talent and further develop their skills so they can compete in district, state, national, and international level tournaments and competitions.
  • The project aims to promote one particular game in every district where sportspersons will be trained and provided related facilities.
  • Earlier, under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme Wrestling became the sport of the Gorakhpur district under the One District One Sports scheme.
  • The Yogi Government had launched the ODOP scheme in January 2018 on the occasion of the foundation day of UP.
