Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia, who won a medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, has now been suspended by the World Wrestling Federation till the end of the year, the major reason behind his refusal to give a dope test.
Bajrang Punia did not give his sample for anti-dope test, as a result of which the Indian National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) temporarily suspended him.
Bajrang Punia was served a notice by the NADA during the selection trial held in Sonipat, Haryana on 10 March 2024 for refusing to give his sample, but he did not respond till 7 May 2024. After this, they were suspended.
If he is cleared of all charges, he could get a chance to participate in the Paris Olympics.
