Category : International Published on: July 21 2025
The U.S. has officially rejected a World Health Organization agreement created to strengthen international pandemic response mechanisms, citing reservations about legally binding obligations. The accord, finalized in Geneva after three years of talks, mandates that 20% of vaccines and therapeutics be allocated to the WHO during a pandemic to support low-income countries. The U.S. withdrawal, initiated under President Trump’s administration, means it will not be subject to these commitments.
