The United States and Türkiye signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Strategic Civil Nuclear Cooperation at the White House. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the two countries in civil nuclear technology, investment, and energy security. Under this framework, new nuclear power plants will be developed in Türkiye, with a special focus on Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology. Through this agreement, Türkiye is taking a significant step toward diversifying its energy supply and reducing dependence on Russia, while the U.S. SMR technology will provide Türkiye the opportunity to develop small, safe, and modular nuclear plants near industrial areas. The agreement is also considered crucial for strengthening bilateral strategic partnership in energy, defense, and regional stability between the two nations.
India and South Korea began their first bilateral naval exercise IN–RoKN at Busan to enhance maritime cooperation.
