Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has inaugurated the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM) in Silchar.
The hospital will also cover Tripura, Manipur, and Mizoram along with three districts of Barak Valley and research on Unani treatment will be done in the hospital.
This is a first-of-its-kind institute on Unani medicine in the Northeast states.
The Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), spread over an area of 3.5 acres, was built at an investment of Rs 48 crore.
