  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the President's Colour to Haryana Police in recognition of its exceptional service, at the Haryana Police Academy at Madhuban.
  • The President’s Colour is the highest honour given to any military or police unit in recognition of exceptional service rendered to the nation.
  • The President had approved the award for Haryana Police.
  • A replica of the flag presented to the unit can be worn as an insignia by all officers and ranks of the force on their uniform.
  • At first, Uttar Pradesh Police received the award in 1952 from then-Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
  • Later in 1954, the Delhi Police received the award from former president Rajendra Prasad. Maharashtra Police received the award in 1961 while Jammu and Kashmir Police received it in 2003.
  • Himachal Pradesh Police received the award in 2021 while Assam Police in 2022.
