  • UNESCO has designated Bengal's world-renowned Durga Puja as a cultural heritage Status.
  • The United Nations' Cultural Unit (UNESCO) has declared that Bengal's Durga Puja has been included in the representative list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
  • This is Asia's first UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity festival.
  • There are three more festivals or carnivals in South America and Europe that have been designated as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
  • Traditional yoga and the Kumbh Mela, respectively, received accolades in 2016 and 2017.
