  • The Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in Abu Dhabi has become the Arab world’s first fully operational nuclear power plant.
  • The plant’s fourth reactor began commercial operations, with a total production capacity of 40 terawatt-hours (TWh) per year, meeting 25% of the UAE’s electricity demand.
  • The Barakah plant will power major industries including the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Emirates Steel, and Emirates Global Aluminium.
